Pilates is wonderful!
I notice since taking it, I feel better, am more flexible and overall seem slimmer. Its a great toning exercise—though it is possible to loose weight doing it, i use it mainly to tone. It also helps a lot with balance and aggility….can really make you more focused. Its also kinda fun! So unlike other activities that you might feel like its going on forever, and you dont really enjoy it—this is a great way to workout without having to be bored! Consider bringing a friend….its always fun to see each other in strange positions.
These classes are great becuase they normally have different levels, so you can start at a beginner class and work yourself up. I try to go 2-3 times a week…they are great wth finding out your weaknesses and helping you achieve and accomplish more
Also consider a yoga class….sometimes they combine them or have seperate ones–they are similar but also focus on breathing and relaxation exercises, which is great for your overall health!
my mom takes pilates twice a week and she says she feels great. she’s lost a couple of inches off her waist and her clothes are a little looser. i think it does make you more flexible, and it lengthens your muscles to give you a long lean effect. i would definitely give it try! (i would but the classes are when i’m at school =[ )
Last year, I lived with my uncle for 3 months and gained about 20 pounds! It was bad… and my grandma had to make it worse for picking on me.
So, I decided to do pilates and it sure did give me back my flexibility. It also gives you better posture, lengthens you out, and flattens out your tummy!
Hopefully that helps you
